Noemi Cabre Casares

Noemí Cabré is a 4th year PhD student from Catalonia, Spain. During her investigations at Universitat Rovira i Virgili, she became interested in understanding how metabolic perturbations govern pathological progression during Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease. Noemí investigates the metabolic differences between obese patients that have NALFD vs. those that have no detectable pathologies, to understand how disease phenotype differentially manifests itself during obesity. In addition to measuring global differences in metabolite concentrations in these livers, she studies the crosstalk between signaling and epigenetic mechanisms of disease, to reveal a more holistic picture of what goes on during NAFLD. In her spare time, Noemí enjoys running by the beach and watching classic movies with her pets.
