My name is Aiden. I am a freshman Bioengineering student here at UCLA with a primary interest in the structural and functional complexities of the genome. Currently, my work in the lab focuses on genotyping and molecular biology techniques to support our ongoing research initiatives.
As an aspiring physician, I am particularly fascinated by chromatin organization and how its three-dimensional spatial arrangement influences gene expression and cellular identity. I hope to further explore these mechanisms within the context of cardiomyocytes, investigating how epigenetic regulation and chromatin remodeling drive cardiac development and disease—knowledge I aim to eventually translate into clinical practice. Outside of the lab and the classroom, I stay active through working out and dancing. When I'm looking to recharge, I usually have my head in a book.
